Tiers can go offline and cause data to be unavailable if multiple drive issues occur in a short time. The internal software monitoring daemon stops/restarts on Node A due to a hardware hang involving the QAT which causes the processing of IO requests to hang. In rare situations, a misbehaving drive may cause the Perl interpreter to crash leading to node reboots.
