14 Palm Rest CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide. NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the back panel) on the computer. Removing the Palm Rest 1 Follow the instructions in "Before You Begin" on page 9. 2 Remove any installed ExpressCards from the ExpressCard slot. 3 Remove any installed memory modules or Mini Cards (see "Memory" on page 17 and "Communication Cards" on page 35). 4 Remove the hinge covers and center control cover (see "Removing the Hinge Covers and Center Control Cover" on page 45). 5 Remove the internal card with Bluetooth® wireless technology (see "Removing the Card" on page 49). 6 Remove the keyboard (see "Removing the Keyboard" on page 55). 7 Remove the display assembly (see "Removing the Display Assembly" on page 63). 8 Turn the computer upside down and remove the eleven M2.5 x 5-mm screws from the computer base.
