17 Speaker CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide. NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the back panel) on the computer. Removing the Speaker 1 Follow the instructions in "Before You Begin" on page 9. 2 Remove any installed ExpressCards from the ExpressCard slot. 3 Remove any installed memory modules or Mini Cards (see "Memory" on page 17 and "Communication Cards" on page 35). 4 Remove the hard drive (see "Removing the Hard Drive" on page 13). 5 Remove the hinge covers and center control cover (see "Removing the Hinge Covers and Center Control Cover" on page 45). 6 Remove the keyboard (see "Removing the Keyboard" on page 55). 7 Remove the display assembly (see "Removing the Display Assembly" on page 63). 8 Remove the palm rest (see "Removing the Palm Rest" on page 75). 9 Disconnect the button board cable connector from the system board (see "Removing the Button Board" on page 59). 10 Remove the two speaker screws (one on each speaker) from the computer base. Removing the Speaker

Follow the instructions in "Before You Begin" on page 9.

Remove any installed ExpressCards from the ExpressCard slot.

Remove any installed memory modules or Mini Cards (see "Memory" on
page 17 and "Communication Cards" on page 35).

Remove the hard drive (see "Removing the Hard Drive" on page 13).

Remove the hinge covers and center control cover (see "Removing the
Hinge Covers and Center Control Cover" on page 45).

Remove the keyboard (see "Removing the Keyboard" on page 55).

Remove the display assembly (see "Removing the Display Assembly" on
page 63).

Remove the palm rest (see "Removing the Palm Rest" on page 75).

Disconnect the button board cable connector from the system board (see
"Removing the Button Board" on page 59).
10
Remove the two speaker screws (one on each speaker) from the computer
base.
