Appendix Battery Information Your nüvi contains an internal, nonreplaceable, lithium-ion battery. Do not remove or attempt to remove the battery. Doing so could result in risk of battery fire or damage and injury. The battery icon in the corner of the Menu page indicates the status of the internal battery. To increase the accuracy of the battery gauge, fully discharge the battery and then fully charge it; do not unplug the nüvi until it is totally charged. Contact your local waste disposal department for information on properly disposing of the unit. Maximizing the Battery Life • Turn down the backlight (Tools > Settings > Display > Brightness). • Do not leave your nüvi in direct sunlight. Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive heat. Remove the fuse (glass and silver cylinder), and replace with a 3A fast blow fuse. 3. Ensure that the silver tip is placed in the black end piece.
