To replace the heat sink and processor: 1 Remove the side panel by following the instructions in "Removing the side panel" on page 14. 2 For more stability, place your computer on its side. To avoid scratching the case, place it on a towel or other non-abrasive surface. 3 Pull the front fan away from the system board, then remove it. 4 Disconnect the fan cable from the system board. 28

Tips & Tricks
You need a Phillips screwdriver to replace
the heat sink.
To replace the heat sink and processor:

Remove the side panel by following the instructions in
“Removing the side
panel” on page 14
.

For more stability, place your computer on its side. To avoid scratching the
case, place it on a towel or other non-abrasive surface.

Pull the front fan away from the system board, then remove it.
4
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
