Creating Recovery discs All software, including Windows XP, device drivers, and other programs required for a complete system restoration, are included on your computer's hard drive. After you start your computer the first time and complete the Windows XP setup process, the Recovery Media Creator program starts and prompts you to create recovery discs. You can: ■ Immediately follow the Recovery Media Creator's on-screen instructions to create the full set of Recovery discs from the hard drive using blank discs. - OR - ■ Wait until a later time to create the full set of Recovery discs from the hard drive using blank discs. Tips & Tricks We strongly recommend that you create the Recovery discs when first prompted to launch the software backup process. Creating the discs makes sure that you have a full backup of all software that was installed when you purchased your computer. The Recovery Media Creator program lets you create only one set of Recovery discs. You may not need all the blank discs that were included with your computer to make the Recovery discs. 2
