Is this defective? Possible Cause Light bulb is broken or defective. Pad operating light is broken. The temperature is too high to set a self-clean operation. Oven controls improperly set. Excessive soil or grease. Food too close to burner element. Oven too hot. Oven controls improperly set. Oven was heavily soiled. The self-clean cycle has been selected but the door is not closed.
