If a name is not specified, a default name of Par is given to the nPar. A partition name should have at least one of the following non-numeric characters: ◦ a-z ◦ A-Z ◦ - (dash) ◦ _ (underscore) ◦ . (period) Any other non-numeric character is not allowed in a partition name. The name for the nPar should be specified either using -p or -P option. The default memory settings depends on the OS type specified by the user through -o option. Creates an nPartition from a partition specification. On successful nPartition creation, a parspec specified with -z option is made the current parspec for the nPartition. When the -z option is not specified, a default parspec in the format ps is created and made the current parspec. If a parspec with the same name exists, it is overwritten. This is used to determine the default values for certain firmware settings and memory settings. IMPORTANT: Booting a different OS than the one specified could result in the OS failing to boot or in the OS not behaving properly once booted. The valid strings for OS names are the following: ◦ HPUX_11iV3 (default) Creates an partition specification only. The create_nPar_flag can have y or n values.
