Table 42. Image defects Problem Cause White spots on black Solution 1. Print a few more pages to see if the problem corrects itself. 2. Make sure that print media type and quality meet HP specifications. 3. Make sure that the environmental specifications for the printer are being met. 4. Replace the toner cartridge. Repetitive defect ruler Repetitive print defects are usually associated with a specific roller within the printer or the toner cartridge. Use figure 98 to isolate the cause of repetitive print defects. Align the first occurrence of the defect with the top of the "ruler" and measure to the next occurrence of the defect to determine the roller in question.
