Introduction Preparing the System Perform the following steps to prepare the system for the DDS-DC drive installation: 1. Determine the existing SCSI-2 address settings currently in use on your system by completing the following steps. 2. If you are using HP-UX 9.X, enter the following at the prompt: /etc/ioscan RETURN After a few moments the ioscan utility lists all of the I/O devices it could find. If there is a SCSI DDS drive in the list, its listing appears similar to the following: H/W Path Description Status 2.0.1.3.0 tape drive ok(nnnnnnnn) If you are using HP-UX 10.X, enter the following at the prompt: /usr/sbin/ioscan RETURN After a few moments the ioscan utility lists all of the SCSI I/O devices it could find. Preparing the System
Perform the following steps to prepare the system for the DDS-DC drive installation:

Determine the existing SCSI-2 address settings currently in use on your system by
completing the following steps.

If you are using HP-UX 9.X, enter the following at the prompt:
/etc/ioscan
RETURN
After a few moments the
ioscan
utility lists all of the I/O devices it could find. If
there is a SCSI DDS drive in the list, its listing appears similar to the following:
