Turning Off the HP Center Service You can turn off the HP Center Service temporarily (during the current PC session) or permanently (for all future PC sessions). To temporarily turn off the HP Center Service: 1 Right-click the hp center icon in the system tray area of the taskbar. 2 Select Shut down hp center service. The service is turned off until you restart the PC. To permanently turn off the HP Center Service: Note: If you change your mind later, you can turn on the service. See "Re-enabling the HP Center Service" in the following section. 1 Click Start on the taskbar. 2 Choose All Programs. 3 Choose hp center. 4 Click Disable hp center. The service is turned off until you re-enable it. Re-enabling the HP Center Service The service comes enabled with the PC. You can turn off the service and re-enable it later, using the steps below. When you re-enable the HP Center Service, the service runs whenever you are connected to the Internet, and you receive messages as they become available.
