Basic Operation Operating Your Notebook To reset the notebook Occasionally, you may find that Windows or the notebook has stopped responding, and will not let you turn the notebook off. If this happens, try the following in the order listed. • If possible, shut down Windows: press Ctrl+Alt+Del, then click Shut Down, Turn Off. -or, if this fails- • Press and hold the power button for about four seconds, until the display turns off. Press the power button again to restart. -or, if this fails- • Use a pen or straightened paper clip to press the reset switch on the back of the notebook, then press the power button to restart.
