HP StorageWorks 4/64 SAN Switch As the latest addition to the HP StorageWorks family of switches, the 4/64 SAN Switch provides mid-range capabilities for customers who are either deploying their first SAN or expanding their current SAN with lower-cost access to SAN technology that is easy to manage The 4/64 SAN Switch provides the highest performance with half-a-terabit in 2U and lowest cost for 32- to 64-port switch available; allowing you to experience the benefits of SAN solutions with the option to scale to larger fabrics on a "pay-as-you-grow" basis. The simplicity and ease-of-use features of the 4/64 SAN Switch help increase administrator productivity and lower the cost of management, which can especially benefit organizations with limited IT expertise. In addition, the 4/64 SAN Switch leverages industry-leading 4-Gbit/sec Fibre Channel technology to provide extremely high performance. Delivering 32, 48, or 64 ports in a 2U form factor, the 4/64 SAN Switch enables substantial cost savings-from capital and operating expenses to overall management. It extends the HP modular "building block" approach to developing storage networks. This approach has been widely adopted by storage networking vendors and is the standard in the storage networking industry. The 4/64 SAN Switch can stand up to any mission-critical test and offer significant business and performance advantages to SMBs and mid-range customers as they develop and grow. FICON update HP does not support IBM Fibre Connections (FICON) in this Fabric OS 5.1.1b firmware release. See http://www.hp.com for a list of currently supported features. Firmware upgrades and downgrades HP does not support upgrading from more than two previous releases, for example, upgrading from Fabric OS 4.4.x to 5.1.1b is supported but upgrading from Fabric OS 4.2.x or a previous release directly to 5.1.1b is not. Upgrading a switch from Fabric OS 4.2.0 or earlier to 5.1.1b requires a two-step process: first upgrade to v4.4.0 or 5.0.1 and then upgrade to 5.1.1b. PKI certification If you have purchased and are running the Secure Fabric OS option, go to the following web site for information on obtaining a PKI certificate: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?obje ctID=c00027949#top Fabric OS 5.1.1b 13
