If the P-VOL accepts write I/O while the pair is split, the primary storage system records the updated tracks as differential data. This data is copied to the S-VOL when the pair is resynchronized. The pair can be made identical again by resynchronizing the pair. NOTE: You can split a pair from either the P-VOL or S-VOL.
