Removing and replacing a FRU When installing: Apply 1 gram (approx.) of thermal grease to the underside of the fan assembly, spreading it evenly with the provided spatula. Do not apply thermal grease directly to the CPU. Then, when the fan is in place, tighten the screws in this order: A ; B ; and C . Caution: When installing, be sure the screw that was moved from position 2 to 3 above, is returned to its original location. ThinkPad G40, G41 97
