4 RECEIVE AND TRANSMIT ■ Operating SSB q Select the desired frequency band. (p. 35) w Push [SSB] to select the LSB or USB mode. • W hen operating above 10 MHz, USB is selected first; when operating below 10 MHz, LSB is selected first. • A fter USB or LSB is selected, hold down [SSB] for 1 second to select the data mode, if needed. e Rotate [MAIN DIAL] to tune a desired signal. • The S-meter indicates the received signal strength. • The tuning step can be changed using the tuning step program mode.
