4 RECEIVE AND TRANSMIT ■ Operating RTTY (FSK) When using your RTTY terminal or TNC, consult the manual that comes with the equipment. q Select the desired frequency band. (p. 35) w Push [CW/RTTY] once or twice to select the RTTY mode. • After the RTTY mode is selected, hold down [CW/RTTY] for 1 second to toggle between normal and reverse modes, if needed. e R otate [MAIN DIAL] to tune a desired signal. • The S-meter indicates received signal strength. • If the received signal cannot be demodulated, try to select the RTTY reverse mode in step w. • T he tuning step can be changed using the tuning step program mode. (p. 38) r P ush [TRANSMIT] to set the transceiver to the transmit mode, or transmit a SEND signal from your TNC. • The TX/RX indicator (MAIN Band) lights red. • T he Po meter displays the transmitted RTTY signal strength. t U se your connected PC or TNC (TU) to transmit RTTY (FSK) signals. y Push [TRANSMIT] to receive. Rotate [MAIN DIAL] to the point where both sides of the dots appear equally. • W hile transmitting, the meter functions as the transmit meter, SWR, ALC or COMP, selected with [ANT•METER].
