Intel® Entry Server Board SE7221BK1-E User Guide Server Utilities 3 Server Utilities BIOS Setup The BIOS Setup utility is provided to perform system configuration changes and to display current settings and environment information. The BIOS Setup utility stores configuration settings in the system's non-volatile memory. Changes affected by the BIOS Setup will not take effect until the system is rebooted. The BIOS Setup Utility can be accessed when prompted during POST by using the F2 key. Localization The BIOS Setup utility uses the Unicode standard and is capable of displaying setup forms in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. The BIOS supports these languages for console strings as well. Console Redirection The BIOS Setup is functional via console redirection over various terminal emulation standards. Due to emulation compatibility reasons, some functionality may be limited, e.g., usage of colors, some keys and/or key sequences, and support of some pointing devices. Configuration Reset There are different mechanisms for resetting the system configuration to default values. When a reset system configuration request is detected, the BIOS will load the default system configuration values during the next POST. A reset system configuration request can be generated by moving the Clear CMOS jumper. 20

BIOS Setup
The BIOS Setup utility is provided to perform system configuration changes and to display current
settings and environment information.
The BIOS Setup utility stores configuration settings in the system’s non-volatile memory. Changes
affected by the BIOS Setup will not take effect until the system is rebooted. The BIOS Setup Utility
can be accessed when prompted during POST by using the F2 key.
