Page 5 highlights

About the Direct Wiring Kit The CV61 is equipped with an internal DC-DC converter and can be directly wired to many low-voltage (12 to 60 VDC) forklifts. This direct connection reduces installation problems and allows for improved battery filtering. Note: The direct wiring kit does not support CV61s equipped with a heated display. You need to purchase an external DC-DC converter to use the heater. For more information, contact your local Intermec representative. What You Need The direct wiring kit contains all of the hardware necessary to connect the direct wiring kit to the forklift battery. However, you also need these tools: • Common hand tools, such as a wrench • Wire crimping and stripping tool • Electric drill and drill bits • Heat gun • Multimeter Determine Your Vehicle's Voltage Level To use this kit, your vehicle requires an input vehicle voltage from 12 to 60 VDC. Make sure that your vehicle's electrical system is in good working condition for all types of installations. The charging circuit must work properly and vehicle generated electrical "noise" must be minimized. Excess electrical noise can be severe enough to defeat the electrical filtering that is built into Intermec products. Defective ignition wiring, damaged insulation, or a faulty vehicle electrical component can cause electrical noise, possibly causing unpredictable behavior in printers and docks. Note: If the vehicle voltage is too high or too low, the Intermec equipment may not work. CV61 Direct Wiring Kit Installation Instructions 5

Determine Your Vehicle’s Voltage Level
To use this kit, your vehicle requires an input vehicle voltage
from 12 to 60 VDC. Make sure that your vehicle’s electrical
system is in good working condition for all types of installations.
The charging circuit must work properly and vehicle generated
electrical “noise” must be minimized.
Excess electrical noise can be severe enough to defeat the
electrical filtering that is built into Intermec products. Defective
ignition wiring, damaged insulation, or a faulty vehicle electrical
component can cause electrical noise, possibly causing
unpredictable behavior in printers and docks.
Note:
The direct wiring kit does not support CV61s equipped
with a heated display. You need to purchase an external DC-DC
converter to use the heater. For more information, contact your
local Intermec representative.
