Installing or replacing an adapter card Attention Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the "Important safety information" in the ThinkCentre Safety and Warranty Guide that came with your computer. To obtain a copy of the ThinkCentre Safety and Warranty Guide, go to: http://www.lenovo.com/support This section provides instructions on how to install or replace an adapter card. Your computer has one PCI Express x1 adapter card slot, one PCI Express x16 adapter card slot, and two PCI adapter card slots. See "System board connectors" on page 84. To install or replace an adapter card: 1. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 85. 2. At the rear of the computer, press the release button 1 to open the adapter latch 2 . If you are installing an adapter card, remove the appropriate slot cover.
