845 GM/GLM/GEM/PEM/GVM series M-ATX Mainboard USB Controller This item is used to enable or disable the onboard USB controllers. Settings: Enabled, Disabled. USB Keyboard/Mouse Support Set to Enabled if your need to use a USB keyboard/mouse in the operating system that does not support or have any USB driver installed, such as DOS and SCO Unix. AC'97 Audio Auto allows the mainboard to detect whether an audio device is used. If the device is detected, the onboard AC'97 (Audio Codec'97) controller will be enabled; if not, it is disabled. Disable the controller if you want to use other controller cards to connect an audio device. Settings: Auto, Disabled. AC'97 Modem Auto allows the mainboard to detect whether a modem is used. If a modem is used, the onboard MC'97 (Modem Codec'97) controller will be enabled; if not, it is disabled. Disable the controller if you want to use other controller cards to connect to a modem. Settings: Auto, Disabled. Onboard LAN selection The field determines whether the onboard LAN controller is activated. Setting options: Enabled, Disabled. IDE HDD Block Mode Block mode is also called block transfer, multiple commands, or multiple sector read/write. If your IDE hard drive supports block mode (most new drives do), select Enabled for automatic detection of the optimal number of block read/writes per sector the drive can support. Settings: Enabled, Disabled. Floopy Disk Controller This is used to enable or disable the onboard Floppy controller. Option Description Auto BIOS will automatically determine whether to enable the onboard Floppy controller or not. Enabled Enables the onboard Floppy controller. Disabled Disables the onboard Floppy controller. 3-16
