The counter time will not change on a blank tape or blank portions on a tape. The "-" before the tape counter indicates the amount of remaining recording/playing time before the counter reaches zero. Follow the steps below to reset the tape counter to zero at a tape location you want to refer to later. 1 Play, rewind, or fast forward the tape to the location you would like to refer to later. Press STOP C to stop the tape. 2 Press C.RESET to set the counter to 0:00:00. 3 To return to this same point later, press SETUP. Press ▲ or ▼ to select ZERO RETURN. Then, press ENTER. The tape counter will appear on the screen. When the tape reaches the point at which you set the counter to zero, the tape will stop. Each press of SLEEP will increase the time by 30 minutes. You may set a Sleep Timer of 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes. After five seconds, the Sleep Timer information will disappear from the screen.
