Features Menu • The Closed Captioning Control USING THE CLOSED CAPTIONING CONTROL CC Closed Captioning (CC) allows you to read the voice content of television programs on the TV screen. Designed to help the hearing impaired, this feature uses on-screen text boxes to show dialogue and conversations while the TV program is in progress. BEGIN Press the MENU button on the remote control to show the on-screen menu. Press the CURSOR DOWN button twice to highlight FEATURES. Press the CURSOR RIGHT button to enter the FEATURES menu. Press the CURSOR DOWN button repeatedly until CLOSED CAP is highlighted. Press the CURSOR RIGHT button. The menu will shift to the left and CAPTION MODE will be highlighted. Then press the CURSOR RIGHT button again to highlight the CAPTION MODEs area. Press the CURSOR UP or DOWN button to select a CAPTION MODE. Press the i+ button to remove the menu from the screen. SMART HELP CC DISPLAY-turns text on or off if the TV station broadcasting on the channel is making Closed Captioning available. Highlight CC DISPLAY and press the CURSOR RIGHT button to turn this feature on or off. CC MUTE-turns the Closed Captioning mode on whenever the MUTE button on the remote control is pushed. Select CC MUTE in the onscreen menu to turn this feature on. Closed Captioning cannot be used on the CVI (Component Video input) source. SMART HELP Not all TV programs and product commercials are broadcast with Closed Captioning (CC). Nor are all Closed Captioning MODEs necessarily being used by broadcast stations during a program offering Closed Captioning. Refer to your area's TV program listings for the stations and times of shows being broadcast with Closed Captioning. repeatedly until CLOSED CAP is
highlighted.
Press the CURSOR RIGHT but-

. The menu will shift to the left
and CAPTION MODE will be high-
lighted. Then
press the CURSOR
RIGHT button
again to highlight the
CAPTION MODEs area.
Press the CURSOR UP or
DOWN button
to select a CAPTION
MODE.
Press the i+ button
to remove the
menu from the screen.

on or off if the TV station broad-
casting on the channel is making
Closed Captioning available.
Highlight CC DISPLAY and press the
CURSOR RIGHT button to turn this
feature on or off.
CC MUTE
—turns the Closed
Captioning mode on whenever the
MUTE button on the remote control is
pushed. Select CC MUTE in the on-
screen menu to turn this feature on.
Closed Captioning cannot be used on
the CVI (Component Video input)
source.
Not all TV programs and product commercials are broadcast with
Closed Captioning (CC). Nor are all Closed Captioning MODEs neces-
sarily being used by broadcast stations during a program offering Closed
Captioning. Refer to your area’s TV program listings for the stations and
times of shows being broadcast with Closed Captioning.
