OPERATION TURNING THE POWER ON/OFF 1 LOCK SWITCH 1 Turn the unit on by pressing the Power/Stop button; the Memorex start screen will appear in the display temporarily. Then the Music Player menu will appear and the MP3/WMA track's information will appear in the display. To turn the unit off, press and hold the Power/Stop button; "Continue Holding To Power Off" will appear in the display. Do not release the turns off. Pow1er/Stop button until the unit While in the Music Player menu or the FM Tuner menu, press and hold the Menu/Lock button; "Holding" will appear in the display. When "Locked" appears in the display, release the button. Then a small Lock icon will appear at the bottom right side of the display which indicates that the Lock function is activated (no buttons will be able to be pressed). This is useful when you do not want the station/track changed by accidentally pressing a button. To cancel the Lock function, press and hold the Menu/Lock button, "Locked" will appear in the display. 1 When "Unlocked" appears in the display, release the button. Then the small Lock icon will disappear from the display which indicates that the Lock function is cancelled. EQ-MUSIC PLAYER ONLY 1 1 While in the Music Player menu, press the Menu/Lock button 1; the Main menu will appear. Rotate the Navigation control 2 to select Settings, then press the Navigation control 2; the Settings menu will appear. Rotate the 2 Navigation control 2 to select Equalizer, then press the Navigation control 2; the Equalizer menu will appear. Rotate the Navigation control 2 to select the desired EQ setting: Normal, XBass, Rock, Classical, Jazz or Pop. Press the Navigation control 2 to select and exit the Equalizer menu. Press the Menu/Lock button 1 twice to exit the menus. The selected EQ setting will appear at the top of the display when in Music Player mode. NOTE: To navigate up/down through the menu, you can use the Preset -/Navigation Up v or Preset +/Navigation Down w button in place of rotating the Navigation control. 17
