f2: Assign AE-L/AF-L Button G button ➜ A Custom Settings menu Choose the role played by the AE-L/AF-L button. AE-L/AF-L button . Option Description B AE/AF lock Focus and exposure lock while the AE-L/AF-L button is pressed. C AE lock only Exposure locks while the AE-L/AF-L button is pressed. F AF lock only Focus locks while the AE-L/AF-L button is pressed. Exposure locks when the AE-L/AF-L button is pressed, and remains locked E AE lock (hold) until the button is pressed a second time or the exposure meters turn off. A AF-ON The AE-L/AF-L button initiates autofocus. The shutter-release button can not be used to focus. f3: Reverse Dial Rotation G button ➜ A Custom Settings menu Choose Yes to reverse the direction of the command dial. f4: No Memory Card? G button ➜ A Custom Settings menu If Release locked is selected, the shutter-release button is only enabled when a memory card is inserted in the camera. Selecting Enable release allows the shutter L to be released when no memory card is inserted, although no pictures will be recorded (they will however be displayed in the monitor in demo mode). Note that when photographs are being captured to a computer using Camera Control Pro 2 (available separately), photographs are not recorded to the camera memory card and the shutter will be enabled regardless of the setting chosen for this option. f5: Reverse Indicators G button ➜ A Custom Settings menu At the default setting of (V), the exposure indicators in the viewfinder and information display are displayed with positive values on the left and negative values on the right. Select (W) to display negative values on the left and positive values on the right. 164
