Chapter 3 Focusing Focus lock (Focusing on subjects that are not in the center of the frame) If the subject of your composition is not within the AF target mark and focusing is not possible (as illustrated to the right), try the following: Available modes 1 Position the AF target mark over the subject. 2 Press the shutter button halfway to lock the focus. ● Focus and exposure are locked and the green lamp lights up. ● If the green lamp blinks, focus and exposure are not locked. Release your finger from the shutter button and position your subject again. Repeat step 2 until the green lamp lights up without blinking. AF target mark Green lamp Shutter button 3 Compose your picture (point the camera towards the subject) while keeping the shutter button pressed halfway. 4 Press the shutter button all the way. 37
