Chapter 3 Taking still pictures Aperture setting (Aperture priority shooting) Available modes 1 In the top menu, select MODE MENU T CAMERA T P/A/S/M T A. Press . Press again to cancel the menu. Ññbuttons 2 Set the aperture value. To increase the aperture value (F-number), press Ñ. To decrease the aperture value (F-number), press ñ. button 3 Take the picture. Ⅵ The aperture value is displayed in green The aperture you have set will provide optimum exposure. Ⅵ The aperture value is displayed in red The aperture you have set is unsuitable for the conditions. ᮢ appears: Press ñ to decrease the aperture value. ᮡ appears: Press Ñ to increase the aperture value. Aperture value (F-number) HQ Zoom position Wide (W) Value f2.8* - f8.0 *Open-aperture (the widest aperture setting) depends on the zoom position. Tele (T) f4.8* - f8.0 Note ● When the flash is set to the auto-flash mode, the shutter speed is fixed at 1/30 second in the maximum wide-angle, or 1/100 second in the maximum telephoto, and can never go slower. 41
