Format Dolby Digital DTS PCM Display PCM Normally, the AV receiver detects the signal format automatically. However, if you experience either of the following issues when playing PCM or DTS material, you can manually set the signal format to PCM or DTS: • If the beginnings of tracks from a PCM source are cut off, try setting the format to PCM. • If noise is produced when fast forwarding or reversing a DTS CD, try setting the format to DTS. With this setting, you can correct this by delaying the audio signals. You can set it to 0, 20, or 40 milliseconds. INPUT SELECTOR ON/STANDBY REMOTE MODE RECEIVER DVD TAPE INPUT SELECTOR 1 2 3 C D V1 V2 V3 4 5 6 MD MULTI CH DVD 7 8 9 CDR TAPE TUNER C D +10 0 CLR HDD --/--- DIMMER SLEEP CH DISC ALBUM VOL TOP MENU MENU SP A / B PLAYLIST ENTER MUTING PLAYLIST RETURN SETUP RECEIVER DIGITAL INPUT 1 Press and hold the AV receiver's [DIGITAL INPUT] button for about 3 seconds. 2 While "Auto" is displayed (about 3 seconds), press the [DIGITAL INPUT] button again to select: PCM, DTS, or Auto. DTS or PCM: The DTS or PCM indicator, depending on which format you have set, flashes, and only signals in that format are output. Digital signals in other formats are ignored. Auto (default): The format is detected automatically. If no digital input signal is present, the corresponding analog input is used instead. 1 RECEIVER Press the [RECEIVER] REMOTE MODE button. 2 Press and hold, for more than 4 seconds, the input selector but- ton for the input source that you V1 V2 V3 want to correct. DVD This can be the [DVD], [VIDEO 1], [VIDEO 2], or [VIDEO 3] input source. 3 Use the Left and Right [ ]/[ ] buttons to set the delay to 0, 20, or 40 milliseconds. The previous display reappears if you don't do anything for 5 minutes. Note: • This setting is not available when the Direct listening mode is used with an analog input signal. 54
