• 52 USE OF NON-DEDICATED FLASH UNITS • In using an ordinary flash unit, adjust the shutter dial index (red line) to 100 S . The shutter speed will be indicated as 100 but there will be no LCD indication of f/stop. • Set the lens aperture according to the camera-to-subject distance (Refer to the instructions accompanying the flash unit). • When using a synch-cord, connect it to X -synch socket on your camera. Note: Flash units available from other makers with dedicated flash coupling capability, special purpose flash units, etc., will tend to cause malfunctions or damage to the electronic systems of your camera.
