7. CASSETTE DECK COMPACT CASSETTES - Copyright: Recording is permissible insofar copyright or other rights of third parties are not infringed. - Recording is only possible with deck B. - For recording, use a NORMAL cassette (IEC type I) on which the tabs are not broken out. - This deck is not suited for recording on CHROME (IEC II) or METAL (IEC IV) cas- settes. - For playback, any cassette type may be in- serted. - At the very beginning and end of the tape, no recording will take place during the six seconds when the leader tape passes the recorder heads. - To prevent the accidental erasure of a recor- ding, keep the cassette side to be safeguarded in front of you and break out the left tab. Now, recording on this E*1 '07 side is no longer possible. To render this safeguard ineffective, cover the hole with a piece of adhesive tape. - Do not expose the cassettes to rain, mois- ture, sand, or to excessive heat. (E.g. from heating equipment or in motor cars parked in the sun.) CASSETTE PLAYBACK Playback on deck A or B tia • Set the FUNCTION switchQ to TAPE. - The POWER indicator *0:) goes out. ILI • Press STOP/EJ(ect)@ or 0 to open the cas- • sette holder. • Insert a recorded cassette. • Adjust the sound using the VOLUME ® control. • Set the tone color with the three band graphic equalizer ®. • You may connect stereo headphones having a 3.5 mm plug to the PHONES jack ®. - Inserting the plug will disconnect the speak- ers. • Press PLAY @ or © and playback will start. - The POWER indicator *@ lights up - Playback stops when the tape in the deck reaches the end. • For brief interruptions, press PAUSE@ or ©. - To restart playback, press this button once more. • To stop, press STOP/EJ(ect)@ or 0. - When the end of the tape is reached the PLAY button is released. - The set will be switched off if the FUNC- TION switch ® is in position TAPE and no buttons are pressed. Winding the tape • Press F. FWD 0 or n to search forwards to the end. • Press REWIND @ or © to search forwards to the end. Continuous play • Set the FUNCTION switch ® to TAPE. - The POWER indicator *0 goes out. • Press both STOP/EJ(ect) buttons and insert a record ed cassette in both decks. Vuommi • Press PLAY 0 on deck A. Then press PAUSE@ and PLAY on deck B. - Playback begins with deck A. - Playback stops when the tape in deck A reaches the end. - The PAUSE button @ will automatically be released and playback continues with deck B. - To stop, press STOP/EJ(ect) @ or 0. - The set is then switched off. Note! When you press STOP/EJ(ect) © on deck A, playback will continue with deck B. 9
