USING YOUR UNIT AS A BRUSHCUTTER The 8 inch Brush Blade is designed to cut grass, weeds, and woody brush and small trees up to 2 inches in diameter. A DANGER - THISPOWER TOOL CANBEDANGEROUS!Donotattach ablade to this unit without the proper installation of all parts. The Handlebar in the kit must be used as a bar- rier between the operator and the blade. Failure to use the handlebar can result in serious injury to the operator. This unit can cause serious injuryincludingamputation or blindness to the operatorand others. Thewarn- ings and safety instructions in this manual must be followed to provide reasonable safety and efficiency in using this unit. The operator is responsible for following the warnings and instructions in this manual and on the unit. Read the entire Operator's Manual before using this unit! ADANGER - BLADE THRUST Whenthespin- ning blade contacts anything it does not cut, a dan- gerous reaction can occurcausingtheentire unitand operator to be thrust violently in any direction. This reaction is called Blade Thrust. As a result, the op- era-tor can lose control of the unit. Use handlebar, shoulder strap, and keep shield in place. Make sure others are at least 30 feet (10 me- ters) away. Seep blade sharp. Cut at full throttle and from your right to left. Blades that are bent, warped, cracked, broken, or damaged can fly apart and cause serious injury. Do not use; Throw away. A WARNING - THROWS OBJECTS The rapidly moving blade causes objects to be thrown violently. The shield will not provide complete protection to the operator or others. The operator must wear a safety face shield or goggles. Always wear safety leg guards and boots. Keep others at least 30 feet (10 meters) away. A WARNING - HAZARD ZONE 60 Foot (20 meter) -Hazard Zone This unit will throw objects and cut. Keep others including children, animals, bystanders, and helpers at least 30 feet (10 meters) away from the operator and unit. Stop the engine and blade immediately if you are approached. IC Stop Coasting Blade by Contact with Cut material. 12 9- NOTE: In areas where other people and animals are present, such as near sidewalks, streets, houses, etc., it is strongly recommended that the operator use the buddy system; that is, have another person serve as a "look out," keeping himself and others at least 30 feet (10 meters) away from theoperator. A WARNING - COASTING BLADE The blade continues to spin after the engine is stopped or the throttle is released. The coasting blade canthrust, throw objects, or seriously cut you if accidentally touched. Stop the blade by leaving it in contact with material already cut. A
DANGER

BLADE
THRUST
When
the
spin-
ning
blade
contacts
anything
it

not
cut,
a

gerous

unit
and
operator
to

thrust
violently
in
any
direction.
This
reaction
is
called
Blade
Thrust.
As
a
result,
the
op-
era
-tor
can
lose
control
of
the
unit.
Use
handlebar,

shield

place.
Make
sure
others
are
at
least
30
feet
(10

ters)
away.
Seep
blade
sharp.
Cut
at

your
right
