Using the Tape Counter The tape counter: x indicates the elapsed time in the play and record modes (hours, minutes and seconds) ; x is reset when a cassette is inserted in the VCR ; and x enables you to find the beginning of a sequence easily. To enable the remaining time to be calculated correctly, you must indicate the type of cassette being used. See page 22. GB EX REC.SPEED CLK/COUNT PIC2TURE TIMER STROBE AUDIO 23 ART INPUT 1 Insert a cassette in your VCR. 2 Press CLK/COUNT twice. Result: The tape counter is displayed: 0:00:00. The tape counter does not necessarily start from zero at the beginning of the tape. 3 Select the required operation (play, record, fast-forward, rewind). Result: The tape counter indicates how long the cassette has been running. 4 To set the tape counter to zero at the beginning of a sequence: x press DISPLAY twice to display the counter ; and x press CLR/RST when you want to set the tape counter to zero. 5 To fast-forward or rewind to the sequence at which the counter was set to zero, simply press REW ( ) or F.F ( ). Result: The VCR stops automatically when the counter reaches zero. Some VCR information, such as the counter, can be displayed on the television screen (unless you have deactivated the OSD mode; refer to page 17). Press DISPLAY: x once to display the current function, program number, recording speed, date, time and counter ; x twice to display the counter only ; x three times to display the time remaining on the cassette ; and x four times to clear the display.
