YOUR NEW TV Learning about your new TV, continued Remote control (TYPE 2) You can use the remote control up to a distance of about 23 feet from the TV. When using the remote, always point it directly at the TV. You can also use your remote control to operate most VCR's and cable boxes. For more information, see page 8. 1 POWER Press to turn the TV on and off. 2 Number buttons Press to directly select channels on the TV. SLEEP Press for the TV to automatically turn off after an amount of time that you set. ADD Press to add channels or to add features while working with the on-screen menus. The ADD button does not work for this TV set. (Function not used) ERASE Press to erase channels or to canel features while working with the on-screen menus. The ERASE button does not work for this TV set. (Function not used) +100 Press to directly select channels over 100. For example, to select channel 121, press +100, then press 2 and 1. 5 REW(Rewind) Press to rewind a tape in your VCR. REC Press to begin recording with your VCR. STOP Press to stop a tape in your VCR. MUTE Press to mute (silence) the volume. 6 CHAPTER ONE: YOUR NEW TV CH v and CH w (Channel) Press CH v or CH w to change channels. Also use with the on-screen menu system. P-STD Press to adjust the TV picture by selecting one of the special factory settings or your own custom setting. For models: TXH1386/1986/1973/ TXJ1396/1996
