Helpful Hints (Problems/Solutions) Before calling for assistance, please check the condition that most closely resembles your problem in the following chart, then try the solutions for that condition. Visit our Web site at www.sanyoctv.com or call toll free 1-800-877-5032. Problem: TV turns off automatically. Check these Conditions: G Check signal (Cable/Ant.) connection. G Power surge protection feature. No picture, poor picture, or wavy lines in picture. G Check antenna connections. G May be station trouble. G Brightness or Contrast misadjusted. G Possible interference from household appliance. Try these Solutions: G Press POWER key. G The sleep timer may have been set. G Unplug TV momentarily. G Adjust antenna. G Try a different channel. G Press RESET key. G Turn off Mixer, Drill, Blender, etc. Black box on screen. G Caption Text Mode without display information. G Press RESET key twice. G Switch OFF Captions (see page 14). Poor color or no color. Blue Screen with Video1, Video2, or Component2 displayed. G Check if program is in color. G Check antenna connections. G Color or Tint misadjusted. G May be station trouble. G Check Audio / Video connections. G Check external equipment connections. G Check DVD setting. G Try a different channel. G Adjust antenna. G Press RESET key twice. G Press INPUT key. G Switch on external equipment. G Set DVD component output to interlaced. No sound, poor sound. No sound on some channels. No TV stereo sound. No TV SAP sound G May be station trouble. G May be MUTE function. G Check Audio / Video connections. G Try a different channel. G Adjust Volume. G Press RESET key twice. G Check if station is broadcasting a true MTS G Select Stereo from Audio on-screen stereo signal. menu. G Check if station is broadcasting a SAP signal. G Select SAP from Audio on-screen menu. No Cable channels above number 13. G Cable Channel Indicator C should appear next to channel number. G Select Cable from Antenna on-screen menu; then start CH. (channel) Search using the menu. No UHF channels, VHF OK. G Cable Channel Indicator C should not appear next to channel number. G Select VHF/UHF from Antenna on-screen menu; then start CH. (channel) Search using the menu. Cannot select or scan some channels. G Channel may be removed from memory. G Check antenna connections. G V-Guide is set to block programming (see pages 15 ~ 16). G Select CH. Scan Memory and manually add channels or start CH. (channel) search. G Press RESET key to clear setting. G Set V-Guide to OFF or press RESET key. No Captioning. Menu System words seem misspelled Remote Control will not work TV. Remote Control will not operate VCR, Cable Box, and DVD. Cabinet makes popping sound. G Check if station is broadcasting a ClosedCaption signal. Select another channel. G May be a different language is selected. G Check batteries; see ifTV is plugged in. G Press TV key. G Press VCR, or AUX key. G Check external equipment. G Select Caption1 or Caption2 (see page 14). G Reselect menu language choice using the on-screen menu or press RESET key. G Replace batteries. G Aim remote control at front of TV. G Re-enter brand code (see pages 10 ~ 12). G This is a normal condition during warm-up and cool down of the plastic cabinet parts.
