Setup & Connections Connecting the Projector Connecting the Projector to a Monitor When the ANALOG OUTPUT port on the projector is connected to a monitor with RGB input, the computer can be used to display the output image to the projector and the monitor simultaneously. Use the supplied computer RGB cable to connect them. 1 Connect one end of the supplied computer RGB cable to the ANALOG OUTPUT port on the projector. 2 Connect the other end to the RGB input port on the monitor. • The analog output is deactivated when the projector is in standby mode. • An additional RGB cable may be necessary to connect the projector to an external monitor if the supplied cable is utilized for projector data input. Projector 1 2 Computer RGB cable Monitor Connecting to RS-232C/MOUSE Port When the RS-232C/MOUSE port on the projector is connected to a computer with an RS-232C cable (null modem, cross type, sold separately), the computer can be used to control the projector and check the status of the projector. See page 52 for details. DVI-Analog to VGA cable DVI-Analog to VGA adaptor 1 Connect the projector and computer in advance, as described on page 13 or 14. 2 Connect the supplied DIN-D-sub RS-232C cable to the RS-232C/MOUSE port on the projector. 3 Connect an RS-232C cable (null modem, cross type, sold separately) to the other end of DIN-D-sub RS-232C cable and to the serial port on the computer. Computer RGB cable CAUTION • Do not connect or disconnect an RS-232C cable to or from the computer while it is on. This may damage your computer. • When you turn off the power, be sure to turn the projector off first, and then turn the connected computer off. DIN-D-sub RS-232C cable • The wireless mouse or RS-232C function may not operate if your computer port is not correctly set up. Please refer to the operation manual of the computer for details on setting up/installing the correct mouse driver. • A Macintosh adaptor may be required for use with some Macintosh computers.
