When embroidering onto fabric which is smaller than the hoop size, or when embroidering close to the edge of the fabric, attach the stabilizer as illustrated. (The stabilizer will not work properly unless it is clamped in the hoop along with the fabric being embroidered.) Stabilizer can usually be obtained from a fabric store. Stabilizer is available in several different types, from thin to thick. Purchase whichever type suits your embroidering needs.
