30 HEMMED SEAMS Hemmed seams are appropriate where a 1 fine narrow seam is desired. ..2 • Allow a scant 1/4" seam allowance. • With right sides of fabric together, place upper layer 1/8" to left of lower layer. • Insert two fabric edges into hemmer and proceed as for plain hem.
