NOTES ON CASSETTES Use the Sony leaderless cassette tape DC-60, DC-90 or the equivalent tape (optional) is recommended. The use of the chromium dioxide or metal type of cassette is not advisable. Precautions • Never touch the surface of the tape. Oil from your fingers could damage the tape. • Insert the cassette with the same side facing up as it was in the BM-146 court confer-corder. ELIMINATE TAPE SLACK Before inserting a cassette, take up any tape slack by inserting a thick pencil into the hub of the cassette and turning it a few times as shown. CASSETTE INSERTION 1 Press A EJECT to open the cassette compartment lid. 2 Insert the cassette with the exposed tape facing you. Insert the cassette all the way until a click is heard, so that the head pops out. Desired side up 3 Close the cassette compartment lid. To take out the cassette, press ! EJECT. 5
