If the system still does not operate properly after performing the above measures, reset the system as follows: Use buttons on the unit for the operation. 1 Remove the disc if it is loaded. 2 Disconnect the power cord. 3 Reconnect the power cord. 4 Press ?/1 to turn on the system. 5 Press DVD NX to switch the function to DVD and make sure that "NO DISC" is displayed. 6 Press x, PLAY MODE and DVD NX at the same time. The system is reset to the factory settings except for DVD settings. You should set the settings you made, such as the preset stations, clock, and timer. To return the DVD setup to the default settings*, perform reset as follows: The operation can only be set using the TV screen. 1 Press DVD SETUP in stop mode. 2 Press < or , repeatedly to select "Reset", then press ENTER. 3 Press < or , repeatedly to select "YES", then press ENTER. It takes a few seconds to complete. Do not press ?/1 when resetting the system. * Except for Rating (Parental Control) settings Note Pressing DVD SETUP in step 1 does not work when using a JPEG disc. Eject the disc before resetting the system. Messages One of the following messages may appear or flash in the display during operation. DVD/VIDEO CD/CD/MP3/JPEG CAN'T PLAY • A disc that cannot be played was inserted. • A disc with an unsupported Region code was inserted. NO DISC There is no disc in the unit. NOT IN USE You pressed an invalid button. Tape NO TAB You cannot record the tape because the tab has been removed from the cassette. NO TAPE There is no tape in the tape deck. TAPE ERR A malfunction of the tape deck has occurred. 44GB
