b Notes • When [SCENE SELECTION SET] is set, the following settings are canceled. - White balance - Iris - Shutter speed - ISO sensitivity/gain • When [SCENE SELECTION SET] is set, the focus area is fixed to [WIDE]. Shooting in dimly lit locations (LOW LUX) You can shoot bright video, even in low light conditions, such as outdoor locations with limited street lighting or dimly lit indoors, by automatically optimizing the gain and shutter speed. b Note • This function is available only when the AUTO/ MANUAL switch is set to AUTO and [AUTO MODE SET] is set to [AUTO]. 1 Set the AUTO/MANUAL switch AUTO. 2 Press the MENU button. 3 Select (CAMERA SET) t [LOW LUX] t [ON]. • is displayed. • To cancel, set [LOW LUX] to [OFF]. Shooting in dark conditions (NIGHTSHOT) You can shoot scenes under very dark conditions by turning on the infrared light. The infrared light does not turn on if [NIGHTSHOT LIGHT] is set to [OFF]. 1 Press the MENU button. 2 Select (CAMERA SET) t [NIGHTSHOT] t [ON]. • is displayed. • To cancel, set [NIGHTSHOT] to [OFF]. b Notes • NIGHTSHOT can only be used when the AUTO/MANUAL switch is set to AUTO. • NIGHTSHOT uses infrared light. Make sure that your finger does not cover the NightShot light when shooting. • Remove the lens hood. • Do not use NIGHTSHOT in bright conditions. Doing so may damage the camcorder. Customizing the picture quality (Picture Profile) You can customize the picture quality by adjusting picture profile items such as [GAMMA] and [DETAIL]. You can make adjustments for the time of day, weather conditions, or just personal preference. Press the ASSIGN3/PICTURE PROFILE button to display the picture profile selection screen. Select a picture profile number to enable shooting with the selected picture profile settings (p. 82). You can change the settings of the picture profile. Picture quality settings for different recording conditions have been stored in [PP1] through [PP6] as default settings. [PP4] is set for the picture profile by default. Continued , 47 Recording
