Notes on batteries Incorrect battery usage may lead to leakage of battery fluid or bursting batteries. To prevent such accidents, observe the following precautions: • Install the + and - poles of the batteries correctly. • Do not try to recharge dry battery. • When the recorder is not to be used for a long time, be sure to remove the batteries. • If a battery leak should develop, carefully and thoroughly wipe away battery fluid from the battery compartment before inserting new ones. On the lid of the battery compartment The lid of the battery compartment is designed to detach from the main unit when handled with great force. To reattach the lid to the main unit, follow the steps below: Slots 1 2 Projections 1 Place the lid so that the projections on the lid aligned with the slots on the main unit. 2 Fit the projection one by one into the slot as shown in the illustration. Note on mechanical noise The recorder gives off mechanical noise while operating, which is caused by the power-saving system of the recorder and it is not a problem. 53

Notes on batteries
Incorrect battery usage may lead to leakage of battery fluid or bursting

On the lid of the battery compartment
