Important Safeguards Welcome to Toshiba Connecting your TV Using the V-Chip (parental control) feature The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) uses a rating system to qualify motion picture content. Television broadcasters also employ a rating system to qualify the content of television programs. The TV and MOVIE ratings work with the V-Chip feature and allow you to block programs according to the rating limits you set. To use the V-Chip to block programs by rating: 1. Press MENU, then press or to display the LOCKS menu. 2. Press L or M to display the password entering mode. 3. Use the Channel Number buttons (0-9) to enter your password. Press ENTER. The LOCKS menu appears. 4. Press L or M to highlight V-CHIP. • Press or to highlight ON to enable V-Chip program blocking by rating. • Press or to highlight OFF to LOCKS V- C H I P V-CHIP SET V-CHIP SET (DTV) ON / OFF disable V-Chip program blocking by rating. :SELECT :ADJUST 5. The program can still be viewed if you press MUTE and then enter your password to temporarily bypass the block. Mute Recall Channel Numbers Menu/ Enter Exit Notes: • If you forget your password, press RECALL four times within five seconds while the TV is in password entering mode. This allows you to reset your password. • You can use V-CHIP SET (DTV) function when the digital broadcasting with a new rating system is received on the TV. Using the V-Chip (parental control) feature
The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) uses a rating
system to qualify motion picture content. Television broadcasters also
employ a rating system to qualify the content of television programs.
The TV and MOVIE ratings work with the V-Chip feature and allow you
