160 Exploring Your Computer's Features Using QosmioPlayer NOTE Duplicated DVD discs may not play with QosmioPlayer. In addition, if any of the media are scratched or dirty, or not in compliance with standards, they may not play properly. In these cases, power on your computer and use the WinDVD™ software to play DVDs. TECHNICAL NOTE: Your optical drive is set to play region 1 (North America) discs. If you cannot view the disc because of a region error, be sure to change the region code in the Windows® operating system. The drive will allow you to change regions four times. On the fourth change, the region will be "locked in." That is, the drive will only play discs from that last region. Note that changing from region 1 to region 2 and back to region 1 is counted as two changes. You must launch the Windows operating system to change the disc region, but once the region has been changed, you can then play the disc using QosmioPlayer.
