Answering system Message playback If you have new messages, /PLAY/STOP on the telephone base flashes and only the new messages are played (oldest first). If there are no new messages, the system plays back all the messages (oldest first). When playback begins, the total number of messages is announced. Before each message, you hear the day and time of the recording. If the date and time are not set, you hear, "Time and date not set," before playback. After the last message, you hear, "End of messages." If the recording time is less than three minutes, you hear, "Less than three minutes to record," (see Message capacity on page 60). To listen to messages at the telephone base: When the telephone base is in idle mode, press /PLAY/STOP. -OR- PLAYING MESSAGE Msg#[1/2] 10:21AM 10/15 Press MENU/SELECT twice. If there are only new or old messages, the messages will play automatically. When messages are playing on the telephone base: • Press pq/VOLUME to adjust the message playback volume. • Press /SKIP to skip to the next message. • Press /REPEAT to repeat the message.
