Power supply cord strain relief: 5. Attach power supply cord strain relief 4-wire Power supply cord Connection IMPORTANT: A 4-wire connection is required for mobile homes and where local codes do not permit the use of 3-wire connections. Strain relief tab pointing down Remove screws from 3/4" (19 mm) UL listed strain relief (UL marking on strain relief). Put two clamp section tabs into hole below terminal block opening with one tab pointing up and one pointing down. Hold in place and tighten strain relief screws enough to hold two clamp sections together. 6. Attach power supply cord to strain relief CD E G A. 4-wire receptacle (NEMA type 14-30R) B. 4-prong plug C. Ground prong D. Neutral prong E. Spade terminals with upturned ends F. 3/4" (19 mm) UL listed strain relief G. Ring terminals 7. Prepare to connect neutral ground wire and neutral wire. E B A Remove center, silver-colored terminal block screw (B). Remove neutral ground wire (E) from external ground conductor screw (A). 8. Connect neutral ground wire and neutral wire Put power supply cord through strain relief. Be sure that wire C insulation on power cord is inside strain relief. Strain relief should be a tight fit with dryer cabinet and be in a horizontal position. Do not tighten strain relief screws at this point. B Now go to step 5 for 4-wire power supply cord connection or step 9 for 3-wire power supply cord E connection. Connect neutral ground wire (E) and neutral wire (white or center wire) (C) of power supply cord under center, silvercolored terminal block screw (B). Tighten screw. 9
