Hot air is circulated throughout the oven cavity by the fan. The constantly moving air surrounds the food to heat the outer portion quickly. ■ T he convect function may be used to cook small amounts of food on a single rack. ■ A lways use the convection grid placed on turntable or baking tray. ■ D o not cover turntable or convection grid or baking tray with aluminum foil. ■ D o not use light plastic containers, plastic wrap, or paper products. All heatproof cookware or metal utensils can be used in convection cooking. Round pizza pans are excellent for convection cooking. ■ U se convection cooking for items such as souffles, breads, cookies, angel food cakes, pizza, and most meats and fish. ■ A ll Convect functions require preheating before use. Place food in microwave oven after preheating is complete. Convection temperatures and times differ from those of standard cooking. The oven can automatically reduce standard recipe temperatures and times for convection cooking. The conversion may not be exact because foods are grouped in general categories. Use the following chart as a guide.
