getting started sharing a file or folder File sharing lets you use one computer in the network to access files that are stored on another computer in the network. For example, you may want to store your family pictures on the desktop computer, but be able to access and view the pictures from your notebook. To share files: 1. On the computer that's storing the file (your desktop), enable sharing on that file (or folder) by doing the following: a. Through My Computer, locate the file (or folder) that you want to share. b. Right-click the file (or folder) and select Properties. c. Select Sharing, Share this folder, and click OK. Only the files marked for sharing can be accessed by other computers on the network. 28

To share files:
