Removing and Replacing the Tire 1. Find the jacking location near the door of the tire that you are changing. Position the jack and turn the handle of the jack clockwise until the wheel is completely off the ground. WARNING To lessen the risk of personal injury, do not put any part of your body under the vehicle while changing a tire. Do not start the engine when your vehicle is on the jack. The jack is only meant for changing the tire. Jack mounting position 2. Remove the wheel lug bolts by using the lug wrench. Never loosen the hub nuts. See the illustration following Step 1 Preparing to Change the Tire if you are not sure where to find the wheel bolts. Replace the flat tire with the spare tire. Keep the retaining tool in place. 3. 136
