Belt Drive Transmission (CVT) The vehicle is equipped with a belt-driven Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). This automatic drive system, although simple to operate, does require periodic inspection since the drive belt wears with normal use. Inspection should be done by an authorized Kawasaki dealer. Drive belts wear with normal use. Inspection of the transmission drive belt is required at least every 100 hours (when the CVT Check Indicator Light has turned on), 90 days of vehicle use or 1 700 km (1 100 mi.) whichever comes first. An average day of use is calculated as 19 km (12 mi.) per day or 1.1 hours. More frequent inspection is necessary if the vehicle is subjected to hard usage.
