MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT 113 Parking Brake Lever The parking brake helps hold the vehicle from rolling while parked. In accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart, check that the parking brake lever functions properly. the locknut (upper nut) on the middle of • Loosen the parking brake lever, and turn the nut next to the locknut until the brake lever will only move 8 ∼ 12 clicks upward. Adjustment • Raise the seat. ○Be sure to hold the cable end with a wrench to prevent the cable from twisting. ○If the brake lever can not be adjusted with the nuts shown here, or if there is any doubt as to the condition or braking effectiveness, have the parking brake system inspected by an authorized Kawasaki dealer.
